Analysts and investors visited the Hiab Multilift assembly site during Cargotec CMD 2022

22/11/2022

Cargotec held its Capital Markets Day in Helsinki, Finland, on 15 November. On the following day, the analysts and investors had the chance to visit Hiab’s Multilift hooklift assembly unit in Raisio, Western Finland. 15 CMD participants travelled to Raisio and received insights, heard presentations and tested personally the Hiab solutions put on display.

On site, the guests were introduced to solutions from all Hiab divisions, first on arrival by a giant Effer 2055 crane. The participants were then divided into three groups who visited the presentation locations at the assembly site on varying intervals. Having smaller groups allowed good visibility and a possibility to ask even detailed questions.

On the Operations part of the tour, the groups were presented the layout of the Raisio site, provided details of the operations on different parts of the facility, and given insight on the Hiab Operational Excellence principles, for example. One of the main topics was Hiab’s ability to secure the availability and access to components and materials, thereby securing the effectiveness and productivity of Hiab’s assembly sites globally. The assembly flow was described to the visitors, from the start to final inspections after which the products are ready to be handed over to the customer.

HiPerform combines Hiab’s connected unit services
During the HiPerform part of the tour, the visiting groups received information about how Hiab services, training, accessories and equipment together provide customers a combination of solutions that enable a high productivity of their operations.

HiPerform uses intelligent solutions and remote services to optimise equipment performance, uptime and safe operation. The HiPerform package of Hiab’s solutions for connected units comprises Hiab HiConnect™, Hiab Uptime™ and Hiab ProCare™, providing connectivity, real-time monitoring and diagnostics, as well as tailored service agreements.

The participants received a HiPerform presentation, and had the possibility to test the HiVision simulator, for example. It became clear from the comments that the HiVision provided a module play-like experience that the visiting analysts and investors thought would make the product quite particularly interesting for the young generations.

Drive a loader crane!
During the Products section of the tour, the visitors had a chance to see concrete Hiab solutions. On display were the Zepro tail lift installed on a Maxus EV (Electric Vehicle) for the final-mile delivery, the latest user assistance and automation features and development of the Multilift hooklifts, and the visitors were also introduced to the sustainable and silent electric E Moffett truck mounted forklift.

One of the highlights of the Products tour was the opportunity to try and test a Hiab loader crane with its remote control, by precision-moving a heavy object around the field. Here the participants received a World Crane Championship experience, as the very same truck combination was used in this year’s World Crane Championship event.

Feedback of the site visit was very positive
After the CMD meeting, the participants had the opportunity to provide feedback about the event as a whole, and about the Raisio site visit in particular. The comments about Raisio showed that the visitors were very impressed by the sophistication of the load handling solutions. Hiab’s investments in fossil-free steel and electric-powered solutions were also received very positively.
