Kalmar, the business area providing container handling solutions within Cargotec, has made an agreement to acquire the majority of the shares of its Spanish distributor Kalmar Espana, the leading distributor and service provider for material handling customers in Spain. The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value. The acquisition is subject to relevant competition authority approval.
Kalmar Espana S.A has a strong customer base within the heavy industrial handling and port industries as well as a good potential to grow its rental business. The company employs six people and had net sales of approximately EUR 11 million in 2005.
